House update

Slowly but surely things are coming together. I've had some furniture delivered and I think it is looking less like a construction site and more like a home. The place still looks like a bombshell has hit it - but I think I can see the potential that lies beyond those horrid drop sheets!

Messy, I know - but you get the idea.

I've brought my TV chairs over to my property. I'm not sure this is the lay-out I'm going to have, but I think the chairs are looking good in context.

My couch has been delivered! I can't wait to get the plastic off, but I'm going with the safe rather than sorry approach until all the painting is done. The coffee table is a new and somewhat indulgent purchase from one of my favourite stores Empire.

The painting is almost done on all the doors and skirting boards! Hallelujah - the peach is almost all gone!

I've picked out a funky dark grey colour for the front door - can't wait to get it up! It's called "Rhino grey" and is from British paints.

A little project

When I finally move out, I'm likely to inherit a few bits and pieces from my lovely parents. I'm not sure they know this yet, but I have decided that I am most definitely going to take (I mean, "inherit") one of their old outdoor settings.

It features two chairs which look exactly the same as this one and a matching table.

I think they're pretty cute. The only issue is that they are currently painted a lovely forrest green (I can assure you, it was totally in fashion in the 90's!).

In any event, they are not entering my house until they have had a makeover. I'm having a tough time deciding what colour the should be painted. Possibly a lovely duck egg blue, or maybe yellow.

I'd love some ideas on this, so if anyone out there is ready this blog - post a comment! Come on, there's no need to be shy.

I think I would also make some cushions to go with the chairs, maybe in a candy stripe fabric. But I have to say I have a massive soft spot for Amy Butler fabrics.

Amy Butler fabric can be purchased from Etsy.
